Egypt-Kuwait Trade Hits $3 Billion in 2023, Investments and Remittances Reviewed

Kuwait, 7 May, 2024 :  Trade between Egypt and Kuwait reached $3 billion in 2023, according to data from CAPMAS. Egypt's primary exports to Kuwait included electrical machinery and appliances, vegetables and fruits, prepared vegetables and fruits, essential oils, and ready-made garments.

Conversely, Egypt imported fuels, mineral oils, and distillation products, organic chemicals, plastics and related articles, and iron and steel from Kuwait in the same year.

Kuwaiti investments in Egypt totaled $632.6 million during the fiscal year 2022/2023, slightly lower than the previous period's $669.3 million. Remittances from Kuwaitis working in Egypt amounted to $4 million, down from $8 million in the previous period.

The number of Egyptians residing in Kuwait was estimated at 612,700 in 2022, according to data from the Egyptian mission.
