Abu Dhabi's Non-Oil Exports to Poland Surge, Strengthening Bilateral Relations

UAE, 11 May, 2024 : Abu Dhabi's non-oil exports to Poland surged by 253% in 2023, highlighting the success of efforts by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) to bolster economic relations.

The 2nd Business Forum between Abu Dhabi and Poland, held in Poland's Silesia Region, marked a significant moment in bilateral relations. Government officials and industry leaders from both sides convened, showcasing progress made and future opportunities.

Key attendees included Jakub Chełstowski, Marshal of the Silesia Region, and Jakub Sławek, Ambassador of Poland to the UAE, alongside Mohammed Al Harbi, UAE Ambassador to Poland.

Rashed Abdulkarim Al Blooshi, Undersecretary of ADDED, led Abu Dhabi’s delegation, which comprised officials and executives from various sectors like education, healthcare, energy, industry, technology, food, beverage, and AgriTech.

Discussions covered renewable energy, technology, healthcare, and infrastructure, highlighting potential collaborations. The forum emphasized Abu Dhabi's trade facilitation solutions and industrial sector, showcasing its attractiveness for investors.

Al Blooshi emphasized the forum's role in strengthening ties and fostering mutual prosperity. Last year, ADDED and Silesia region signed an MoU to enhance economic, industrial, technological, and trade relations.

Ahmed Khalifa Al Qubaisi, CEO of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, highlighted the Chamber's commitment to bilateral ties, stressing the importance of direct partnerships and knowledge sharing.

Dr. Ali Husain Makki, Executive Director of Logistics and Trade Facilitation Sector at ADDED, underscored the opportunities for cooperation and ease of doing business between Abu Dhabi and Poland.

The UAE and Poland's deep historical ties, reinforced by over 20 agreements, form the foundation of their economic partnership. The forum concluded with optimism, laying the groundwork for continued collaboration and shared prosperity.
