UAE, 16 May, 2024 : Dubai Business Events (DBE) is currently participating in IMEX Frankfurt 2024 with a delegation comprising over 35 co-exhibiting stakeholders. The aim is to reinforce Dubai's position as a premier destination for international business events. The delegation includes representatives from various sectors such as DMCs, hotels, venues, and airlines, including Emirates and Expo City Dubai. The theme of this year's IMEX, "Impact," resonates with Dubai's strategy of hosting events that contribute to visitation growth and direct economic impact, aligning with the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33).
Under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai aims to establish itself as a top city to visit, live, work, and invest in. Recent accolades, including being named the top-ranked city in the Middle East by the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) for association meetings hosted in 2023, underscore Dubai's global appeal as a business events destination.
Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), emphasized the importance of IMEX in driving growth in the business events sector, in line with Dubai's ambitious economic strategy. DBE's participation in IMEX serves as a platform to showcase Dubai's offerings and foster collaborations with key industry partners.
Dubai's thriving tourism sector continues its upward trajectory, with a notable 11% increase in overnight visitors in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. This growth builds on the city's impressive performance in 2023, which saw a 19.4% year-over-year increase in international overnight visitors.
