UAE, 6 June, 2024 : Today, His Excellency Younis Haji Al Khoori, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Finance, met with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Article IV consultation mission at the Ministry's headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The delegation, led by IMF staff, is in the UAE as part of their annual economic review.
Key attendees included Ali Abdullah Sharafi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for International Financial Relations, and Thuraiya Hamid Alhashmi, Director of International Financial Relations and Organisations at the UAE Ministry of Finance. Officials and specialists from both the Ministry and the IMF participated in the discussions.
During the meeting, His Excellency Al Khoori expressed gratitude for the IMF's ongoing support, emphasizing the importance of these consultations for aligning the UAE's fiscal policies with international standards and best practices.
The discussions focused on the UAE’s economic and financial developments, including progress in the financial framework and the activities of the Government Financial Policy Coordination Council. Topics covered included public debt, corporate tax, public revenues and expenditures, financial statements, and issues related to energy and green finance.
The IMF Article IV Consultation Mission will continue its meetings with various UAE stakeholders until May 16.
