UAE, 11 June, 2024 : Sharjah has advanced to 4th in the GCC and 7th in the MENA region in the 2024 Global Startup Ecosystem Report (GSER), announced at London Tech Week. The report, by Startup Genome and the Global Entrepreneurship Network, highlights Sharjah's growing influence, moving up two spots from 2023.
Sheikha Bodour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Sheraa, emphasized Sharjah’s commitment to nurturing innovation and driving sustainable economic development. Key sectors contributing to this success include Cleantech, Digital & Creative Industries, and Edtech.
The emirate also ranked highly in categories such as 'Bang for Buck' (5th), Funding (6th), and Market Reach (7th). Sheraa, Sharjah's startup incubator, has supported over 500 founders and 18,000 entrepreneurial youth, creating 1,900 jobs and raising $171 million in capital.
This achievement underscores Sharjah’s position as a dynamic hub for startups, driven by strategic investments and a supportive business environment.
