Oman, 12 June, 2024 : In collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning inked 14 usufruct contracts totaling over RO 8.3 million for agricultural investments.
These contracts encompass a range of agricultural activities, including poultry breeding, frankincense cultivation, livestock raising and marketing, beekeeping, and the cultivation of wheat, coffee, and date palm trees. Additionally, plans include the establishment of farms for figs, papaya fruits, seedlings, and goat rearing.
Spread across five governorates — Dhofar, A’Dakhiliyah, North A’Sharqiyah, South Al Batinah, Al Buraimi, and Muscat — these projects aim to bolster agricultural development.
The signing ceremony, presided over by Eng. Hamad Ali Al Nazwani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning for Housing, saw representatives from investing companies and institutions formalizing the agreements.
Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Bakri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources for Agriculture, along with officials from the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ASMED), were present at the event.
