Mr. Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, attended a signing ceremony in Washington, where an agreement was reached with the US Patent Office to implement a fast-track system for technical examination of patents (PPH). Representing the Bahraini side, Minister Fakhro joined H.E. Kathy Vidal, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the Patent and Trademark Office, from the American side.

The agreement marks a significant step towards advancing Bahrain's patents and intellectual property sector, reinforcing the kingdom's commitment to preserving and protecting intellectual property rights and stimulating investment flow.

As part of the agreement, Bahrain aims to accelerate technical examination procedures for patent applications, enhance cooperation with the US Patent Office, and exchange information on patent applications. The initiative also includes sharing best practices in patent management and improving the quality of Bahraini National Office reports.

The fast-track system will expedite patent granting processes in Bahrain for applicants approved by major international patent offices, including the US. This collaboration aims to bolster Bahrain's knowledge-based economy, promoting innovation and attracting regional and global investments.

The system ensures efficient processing of patent applications, positioning Bahrain as a center for technological advancement and intellectual property development, fostering an innovation-friendly environment.
