Saudi Arabia and Estonia Strengthen Political and Economic Ties

KSA, 4 July, 2024 :  Saudi Arabia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, announced enhanced cooperation with Estonia across political, economic, and vital sectors during a joint press conference with Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna on Wednesday.

The two countries signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for political consultations, setting the foundation for coordination and collaboration. Prince Faisal emphasized efforts to expand cooperation in economic, cultural, and technical fields, aiming to increase trade, investment, and innovation. In 2023, bilateral trade reached $72 million, with Saudi exports at $21 million and Estonian imports at $51 million. Prince Faisal anticipates further economic growth between the nations.

Discussions also covered shared challenges, the Gaza conflict, and seeking a peaceful resolution to the Russia-Ukraine war. Prince Faisal praised Estonia's support for Palestine's full UN membership, highlighting its significance for a two-state solution.

Earlier, Prince Faisal and Tsahkna held talks on strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing multilateral coordination. They signed an MoU to boost relations, with non-resident Saudi Ambassador to Estonia Nesreen Alshebel and Foreign Minister's Office Director General Abdulrahman Al-Dawood in attendance.
