CBUAE's April Balance Sheet Surges to $215 Billion, Marking 25% Year-on-Year Growth

UAE, 12 July, 2024 :  The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) reported a record balance sheet of AED 789.82 billion ($215 billion) by the end of April 2024, marking a 25% year-on-year growth from AED 631.63 billion in April 2023. The balance sheet saw a monthly increase of 2.4% from AED 771.23 billion in March 2024.

In the first four months of 2024, the balance sheet rose by 9.6% from AED 720.9 billion at the end of 2023. The asset allocations included AED 362.66 billion in cash and bank balances, AED 214.3 billion in investments, AED 174.16 billion in deposits, AED 1.73 billion in loans and advances, and AED 36.96 billion in other assets.

On the liabilities and capital side, the balance sheet featured AED 343.26 billion in current and deposit accounts, AED 259.92 billion in monetary bills and Islamic certificates of deposit, AED 146.79 billion in issued banknotes and coins, AED 24.75 billion in capital and reserves, and AED 15.1 billion in other liabilities.
