Sharjah Sees Growth in Business Licences for H1 2024, SEDD Reports

UAE, 16 July, 2024 : Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) has released its H1 2024 report, revealing a 3% year-on-year increase in the total number of business licences issued and renewed, reaching 34,662. Hamad Ali Abdalla Al Mahmoud, SEDD Chairman, highlighted the Emirate's ability to achieve sustainable economic growth aligned with the vision of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah.

According to Al Mahmoud, the report reflects significant investment activity, indicating robust economic development. Fahad Al Khamiri, Director of Registration and Licensing at SEDD, noted that 3,752 new licences were issued, with 30,910 licences renewed during the period, underscoring the department's commitment to streamline services to international standards for the benefit of Sharjah's economic sectors and investors.
