The app supports SAMA's digital transformation strategy by providing efficient tax services and reducing paperwork. It allows citizens to access their accounts, manage tax invoices, and submit refund requests digitally. The first phase is active, enabling users to upload tax invoices and submit refund requests. The second phase, launching by the end of July 2024, will introduce features allowing citizens to scan barcodes to upload invoices directly.
Khalid Ali Al Bustani, FTA Director General, stated that "Maskan" aims to enhance the housing system and quality of life for UAE citizens by providing transparent and efficient tax refund processes. Abdullah Al Bastaki, Executive Director of the Information Technology Sector at FTA, highlighted that the app aligns with the "Zero-Government Bureaucracy" programme, aiming to streamline government procedures and enhance service efficiency.
