Ajman Sees 23% Growth in New Licences for Emirati Businesswomen in 2024

UAE, 29 August, 2024 : A report from the Department of Economic Development (DED) in Ajman reveals a significant increase in Emirati women entrepreneurs. In the first half of 2024, the number of Emirati businesswomen in the emirate reached 2,949, accounting for 35.5% of all businesswomen in Ajman.

Released to mark Emirati Women's Day on August 28th, the report shows a 23% growth in new licences for Emirati women entrepreneurs compared to the same period last year. A total of 258 Reyada licences were issued to women, representing 57% of all Reyada licences, while 391 licences were issued to women in the Enhancement Programme, making up 29% of the total Enhancement licences.

The DED highlighted its commitment to supporting Emirati women, noting their critical role in driving Ajman's economic development and sustainability.
