UAE, 4 September, 2024 : The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has launched the Pakistan Business Council in Sharjah, a move aimed at enhancing economic and investment cooperation between the business communities of Sharjah and Pakistan.
The inauguration ceremony, held at SCCI’s headquarters, was attended by prominent figures including Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan's Ambassador to the UAE, and key members of the SCCI Board of Directors.
Abdallah Sultan Al Owais emphasized that the new council is a strategic addition to SCCI’s network of business councils. It will serve as a platform for companies to connect, collaborate, and form partnerships that foster economic development. He highlighted the council's role in strengthening investment and trade ties between the UAE and Pakistan, noting that non-oil trade between the two countries reached AED25.7 billion in 2022, a 30% increase from the previous year.
The Pakistan Business Council is expected to facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences, promote joint ventures, and expand business opportunities for Pakistani entrepreneurs in Sharjah. Faisal Niaz Tirmizi praised the initiative, stating that it will significantly contribute to job creation and innovation in both economies.
Syed Muhammad Tahir, Chairman of the Founding Committee of the Pakistan Business Council, expressed the Pakistani business community’s appreciation for SCCI’s efforts in creating new economic opportunities and fostering private sector engagement in Sharjah.
