Oman, 4 September, 2024 : Omani Ambassador to Kuwait, Dr. Saleh Al-Kharousi, announced that trade exchange between Oman and Kuwait soared from 282 million Omani rials in 2022 to 877 million rials in 2023. In the first two months of 2024 alone, trade reached 400 million rials.

Direct Kuwaiti investment in Oman also grew, rising from 797 million rials in 2022 to 831 million rials in 2023, with significant investments in manufacturing, real estate, and financial sectors.

Al-Kharousi highlighted the strong cultural ties between the two nations, exemplified by the recent visits of Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tariq and Kuwaiti Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The visits underscored ongoing economic and cultural collaborations, including the Duqm Refinery project and railway connections within the GCC.

The Ambassador noted that Omani tourism is thriving, with tourist numbers expected to surpass one million by the end of the month. The Omani Cultural Week in Kuwait, starting today, features exhibitions, musical performances, and lectures, further cementing the cultural bond between the two countries.
