UAE, 6 September, 2024 :Â The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) held discussions to enhance trade and investment cooperation between the UAE and Nepal's private sectors. Sheikh Majid Faisal Khalid Al Qasemi, First Vice Chairman of SCCI, met with Tej Bahadur, Nepal's Ambassador to the UAE, to explore potential strategic partnerships and opportunities for mutual growth.
The talks included plans to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at boosting exports in key sectors like trade, handicrafts, gold, and agriculture. The agreement would also support food security and sustainable development efforts in both countries.
Sheikh Majid highlighted the UAE's role as a major non-oil trade partner for Nepal and emphasized the importance of reciprocal visits to explore new areas of cooperation, including tourism and renewable energy investments. Mohammad Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director-General of SCCI, encouraged Nepali businesses to participate in major Sharjah events such as the Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show and ExpoCulinaire.
