ZATCA Introduces New Customs Fee Rules to Boost Trade and Reduce Costs

KSA, 9 September, 2024 : The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has announced new Fee Rules on Customs Services, effective 6 October 2024. These rules include waiving fees for export-related customs services and introducing a new mechanism for calculating import service fees. The new import fees will be 0.15% of the value of incoming goods, with a cap of SAR 500 and a minimum fee of SAR 15.

The changes also reduce fees for individuals’ online shipments under SAR 1,000 and replace previous charges, such as SAR 100 for X-ray inspections and information exchange, with a simplified percentage-based system. ZATCA aims to lower import costs and enhance exporters' competitiveness, particularly for SMEs, while promoting Saudi Arabia as a global logistics hub under Vision 2030.

For inquiries, ZATCA encourages customers to contact its call center (19993) or reach out via social media and email.
