Minister Alkhorayef Concludes Successful Visit to China, Boosts Industrial Cooperation

KSA, 10 September, 2024 : Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Alkhorayef, concluded a productive visit to China, including Guangzhou and Hong Kong. The visit focused on enhancing industrial and mining cooperation, exploring knowledge transfer in automotive and smart manufacturing, and attracting investment in lithium and copper production.

Alkhorayef toured the Economic and Technological Development Zone in Guangzhou, met with top executives from Guangzhou Automotive Industry Group and Guangzhou Mino Equipment Company, and discussed potential partnerships and innovations in sustainable transportation and high-tech car manufacturing. He also engaged with Guangzhou Industrial Investment Group and FOTON to explore opportunities in smart equipment and commercial vehicle production.

During a round-table with Chinese investors, Alkhorayef emphasized Saudi Arabia's commitment to attracting Chinese investment in strategic sectors like automotive, aerospace, and renewable energy. He highlighted incentives such as industrial land, financing, and local product preferences in government procurement.

In Hong Kong, Alkhorayef discussed industrial sector cooperation and investment opportunities in automation with government officials and companies. He also visited Hutchison Port and Hong Kong International Terminals Limited to review logistics and port operations.

Accompanied by senior Saudi officials, Alkhorayef’s visit, part of a broader East Asia economic tour, aims to strengthen bilateral ties and seek investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia’s industrial sector.
