Bahrain Showcases Sustainable Industrial Strategy at Belt and Road Summit

Bahrain, 16 September, 2024 : Dr. Khaled Fahad Alalawi, Assistant Undersecretary for Industrial Development at Bahrain's Ministry of Industry and Commerce, participated in the ninth Belt and Road Summit held in Hong Kong on September 11-12, 2024. The summit, themed "Building a Connected, Innovative and Green Belt and Road," brought together over 6,000 policymakers and business leaders to discuss green technology and development opportunities.

In his keynote address, Dr. Alalawi highlighted Bahrain's commitment to sustainability, focusing on sustainable manufacturing and the Kingdom's 2022-2026 industrial strategy. He emphasized Bahrain's efforts to integrate advanced manufacturing and environmental practices, supporting the nation's goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060. Dr. Alalawi also underlined the potential for Belt and Road countries to collaborate on sustainable, technology-driven industrial development.
