Qatar Cabinet Approves Unified Customs Tariff and Key Legislative Measures

Qatar, 19 September, 2024 : Qatar’s Cabinet, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah, met on Wednesday at the Amiri Diwan and approved several key legislative measures.

The Cabinet praised the National Health Strategy 2024-2030 and the National Cyber Security Strategy 2024-2030, both of which aim to enhance Qatar's health system and cybersecurity, aligning with Qatar National Vision 2030.

The Cabinet reviewed and approved:

1. A draft law on meteorological activities to be referred to the Shura Council.

2. A draft decree for a unified customs tariff.

3. A draft decision on electronic real estate registration to support digital transformation.

4. Measures to ratify an agreement with Slovenia for visa exemptions for certain passport holders.

5. Several draft memorandums of understanding (MoUs) for cooperation and joint news exchange with various international news agencies and governments.

The Cabinet also discussed the development of the 'Sharek' platform, reports on international forums, and Qatar’s participation in global events.

These decisions are part of Qatar’s ongoing efforts to improve its legislative framework, support digital initiatives, and strengthen international relations.
