Bahrain, 27 September, 2024 : Bahrain and Thailand are working to enhance their trade relations, focusing on the halal products sector. At a business matching event in Bahrain, officials from both nations highlighted opportunities for collaboration, particularly in halal food, expos, and certification.
Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, vice chairman of Bahrain Chamber’s Food Sector Committee, emphasized the alignment between Thailand’s reputation as a top food exporter and Bahrain’s focus on food security. He called for knowledge exchange in halal certification and supply chain development to position both countries as leaders in the global halal industry.
Nuttapat Chumnijarakij, Chargé d’Affaires of the Royal Thai Embassy, noted the rise in trade between the two nations, driven by Thailand's expanding halal sector. He suggested cooperation across various halal sectors, with Thailand aiming to be a regional halal hub by 2027.
The event featured Thai businesses showcasing halal-certified products, and Bahraini officials expressed optimism about the potential for further growth in bilateral trade.
