UAE, 01 October, 2024 : Ali Abdullah Sharafi, Assistant Under-Secretary of the International Financial Relationship Sector at the Ministry of Finance (MoF), affirmed the UAE's commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with the World Bank to achieve ambitious development goals.
Speaking at a workshop co-organised by the World Bank and the MoF at Abu Dhabi Global Market Academy, Sharafi noted that this cooperation has led to significant successes for the UAE.
Safaa El Tayeb El Kogali, World Bank's Country Director for GCC countries, highlighted that the Abu Dhabi office supports UAE priorities, including competitiveness, health, gender equality, and climate action. El Kogali also emphasised the World Bank’s role as a key partner for the UAE at COP28, focusing on climate finance, water, food systems, and energy transition.
The partnership extends to working with the Gender Balance Council on women’s economic empowerment, and a new agreement with the Ministry of Health and Prevention to study disease costs, aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery and resource allocation.
