UAE, 03 October, 2024 : On Tuesday, the Ministry of Economy unveiled the National Economic Registry (NER) – Growth, a unified database of enterprises and business licenses across the UAE. This platform streamlines the processes for establishing businesses and conducting economic activities into a single national portal, enhancing government service delivery.
At the launch ceremony, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, emphasized the UAE's commitment to digital innovation under its leadership. He described the 'Growth' platform as a significant step forward for the national economy, aimed at eliminating bureaucratic hurdles and providing efficient government services.
The NER offers information on over 2,000 economic activities and serves a wide range of users, including decision-makers, business owners, and investors. It allows inquiries about business licenses, access to investment opportunities, and market trend analysis, supporting business growth through AI-driven digital management.
Bin Touq noted that the NER connects 46 entities across the UAE, using the unified economic number (ERN) to streamline data integration between federal and local governments. This initiative aligns with the ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision to enhance the country’s leadership in government service provision.
The platform, which currently houses 1.5 million active and canceled commercial licenses, will be regularly updated to improve transparency in business performance and support the UAE’s global credit rating. Plans are underway to connect with 100 federal and local entities, expand services to 500, and reduce delivery times within the next two years.
The launch event was attended by key figures, including Alia bint Abdullah Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, and representatives from 34 federal and local entities.
