Saudi Finance Minister Leads Delegation at GCC Financial Cooperation Meeting in Doha

KSA, 04 October, 2024 : Saudi Minister of Finance, Mohammed Aljadaan, led the Kingdom’s delegation at the 122nd Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee meeting on October 3, 2024, in Doha, Qatar. The meeting included finance ministers from GCC nations and the GCC Secretary-General, discussing ways to enhance economic cooperation across the region.

Minister Aljadaan also took part in the first session of the GCC Future Forum, alongside Qatari Finance Minister Ali Alkuwari, Bahraini Finance Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva. He emphasized the importance of cooperation to address shared challenges and strengthen the global standing of GCC nations.

Aljadaan participated in the joint meeting of GCC finance ministers and central bank governors with the IMF, where he highlighted the need for GCC nations to reduce their reliance on oil revenues, pointing to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 reforms.

Additionally, he attended a roundtable on IMF reforms, addressing challenges in the global economy and emphasizing the need for stronger international cooperation to tackle rising geopolitical tensions and slowing global growth.
