UAE, 08 October, 2024 : The UAE, represented by the Federal Tax Authority (FTA), took part in the 5th Forum on Cooperation between Tax Administrations for the Belt and Road Initiative, held in Hong Kong from September 24-26, 2024.
The forum gathered tax authorities, international organizations, tax experts, and global companies to discuss ways to enhance tax cooperation among Belt and Road countries. The focus was on improving tax efficiency, optimizing systems, and advancing digital transformation to support economic growth.
In a press release, the FTA emphasized the significance of the forum in exchanging knowledge on advanced technologies, policies, and best practices. The event was seen as a vital platform for fostering international collaboration and coordination between tax authorities.
The FTA reaffirmed its commitment to expanding cooperation with global tax entities and highlighted the forum's role in addressing emerging tax challenges, as outlined in the Nur-Sultan Action Plan (2022-2024). Key areas discussed included tax certainty, digitalization, and capacity building in tax administration.
