Bahrain, 08 October, 2024 : HE Mr. Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, emphasized the longstanding historical relations between Bahrain and the United States during his keynote address at the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) annual event at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. He highlighted the mutual respect and cooperation that have characterized the partnership and expressed a commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation through joint visits and agreements.
In his speech, the Minister discussed key topics, including the Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which has significantly boosted trade growth and agricultural exports from the U.S. to Bahrain. He noted that U.S. goods and services trade with Bahrain reached approximately $3 billion in 2022, with U.S. exports totaling $1.8 billion and imports at $1 billion. Al Fakhro expressed optimism about leveraging the FTA's potential for future growth in various sectors, including technology, finance, and tourism.
Qays Al Zubi, President of AMCHAM Bahrain, also acknowledged the event's importance in reinforcing the strong ties between Bahrain and the United States.
