UAE, 09 October, 2024 : During the "Doing Business in Serbia" forum in Belgrade on October 7-8, Adrijana Mesarović, Serbia's Minister of Economy, highlighted the strengthening economic ties between Serbia and the UAE. The event was organized by the Dubai International Chamber and included a delegation led by Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, Director General of the Chamber, featuring 13 Dubai-based companies from various sectors.
Mesarović noted significant growth in economic relations, with total trade between the two countries reaching approximately €177 million in 2023. Serbian exports accounted for €111.4 million, marking a 25.3% increase from the previous year, while imports surged by 127.5% to €35.6 million.
She also pointed out that Serbia has become the first country in the Western Balkans and the only EU candidate country to achieve an investment-grade rating, creating unique opportunities for foreign investors. Mesarović emphasized that the recently signed Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Serbia and the UAE will further enhance economic cooperation and accelerate growth in both nations.
