Turkey Sets Goal to Boost Trade with UAE to $40 Billion in Five Years

UAE, 10 October, 2024 : Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat announced plans to increase bilateral trade with the UAE to USD 40 billion within five years. This statement follows a meeting with a delegation of Emirati businessmen, led by Mohammed Al Otaiba, Chairman of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce.

Bolat noted that trade volume between Turkey and the UAE exceeded USD 20 billion last year, marking a 107% increase from the previous year. He emphasized the significant potential for establishing new partnerships across various sectors and highlighted that enhanced cooperation will create opportunities at both bilateral and regional levels.

In a related development, the Ankara Chamber of Commerce signed a "Goodwill Protocol" with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce to further develop trade relations. The protocol, signed in Ankara, aims to establish joint projects, provide mutual technical support, and facilitate visits and conferences between business communities. Ankara Chamber Chairman Gürsel Baran emphasized the UAE's importance as a trading partner for Turkey in the Gulf region, while Al Otaiba noted the steady growth in trade between the two countries over the past five years.
