Bahrain Unveils Roadmap for Development and Legislative Priorities

Bahrain, 15 October, 2024 : A roadmap to accelerate Bahrain's development and meet citizens' aspirations was outlined during the opening session of the Shura Council's new term. Shura Council Chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh urged fast-tracking measures aligned with His Majesty King Hamad’s vision for prosperity, stability, and security in Bahrain and the region.

Al Saleh emphasized cooperation between Parliament, the Shura Council, and both private and public sectors to launch projects boosting food security, natural resource protection, economic recovery, and financial balance. He also highlighted the need to embrace modern technologies and artificial intelligence to drive growth.

He reaffirmed Parliament’s commitment to legislative duties while respecting the Constitution and working closely with the government, led by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Priorities include completing projects in Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 and formulating Economic Vision 2050.

National Assembly Speaker Ahmed Al Musallam echoed support for HRH the Crown Prince’s vision, highlighting cooperation between the legislative and executive branches. He emphasized the importance of strengthening national identity, societal cohesion, and Bahrain's relations with other countries.

Two new members, Abdulwahed Qarata and Dr. Anwar Al Sadah, were sworn in during the session.
