UAE, 16 October, 2024 : The UAE government, in collaboration with the World Economic Forum (WEF), has launched the "We the UAE 2031 Strategic Intelligence Councils," an initiative aimed at leveraging global trends to advance the UAE's national vision. The councils will bring together 120 stakeholders annually to support the UAE's goal of becoming a global economic hub by 2031.
The announcement was made at the 2024 Annual Meeting of Global Future Councils, held in Dubai from October 15-17, in the presence of Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications.
This initiative follows an agreement between the UAE and WEF, first announced at the 2024 WEF Annual Meeting in Davos, to launch the ‘We the UAE for Strategic Intelligence 2031’ platform. The platform will provide policymakers and leaders with insights from over 450 global sources and 2,500 experts.
The councils will focus on key areas including foreign direct investment (FDI), the quantum economy, reskilling, lifelong learning, green economy solutions, health technology, social innovation, and trade technology.
Huda Al Hashimi, UAE Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategy Affairs, emphasized the importance of strategic intelligence in shaping future-ready policies, highlighting the UAE's commitment to innovation, data, and international collaboration.
The 2024 Annual Meeting features over 500 participants from 80 countries, discussing topics across five sectors: technology and AI, environment and climate, governance, economy and finance, and society.
