Al-Jadaan Leads Saudi Delegation to IMF, World Bank Annual Meetings and G20 Summit

KSA, 22 October, 2024 : Saudi Arabia's Minister of Finance, Mohammed Al-Jadaan, is leading the country's delegation to the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group (WBG) in Washington. The six-day event, which begins on Oct. 21, also includes the 4th meeting of G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG).

The Saudi delegation comprises key officials such as Governor of the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) Ayman Alsayari, Deputy Ministers Abdulmuhsen Alkhalaf and Khalid Bawazier, and Dr. Ryadh Alkhareif, Deputy Chair of the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC). Representatives from various national institutions, including the Saudi Fund for Development and the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, are also participating.

Al-Jadaan will chair the IMFC meeting, focusing on global economic developments, policy priorities, and the IMF's role in supporting member countries through advice and financial aid.

Al-Jadaan and Alsayari will also attend the G20 FMCBG meeting, chaired by Brazil, where discussions will cover global economic challenges and enhancing multilateral cooperation.

The meetings gather finance ministers, central bank officials, international organizations, and private sector leaders to discuss pressing global issues like sustainable development, financial stability, and poverty eradication.
