UAE, 22 October, 2024 : Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) has reinforced its position as a top global investment destination following a successful week-long roadshow across Canada. The initiative aimed to engage Canadian businesses by showcasing the investment opportunities and strategic advantages of Ras Al Khaimah as a gateway to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
During the roadshow, RAKEZ held numerous B2B meetings with Canadian firms interested in tapping into Ras Al Khaimah’s cost-effective, low-tax business environment and access to emerging MENA markets. With the UAE ranking as a key destination for Canadian exports in 2023, these discussions highlighted the benefits of establishing a presence in Ras Al Khaimah for business expansion.
A notable highlight was an exclusive event in collaboration with the Canada India Foundation in Toronto, where the RAKEZ team shared insights on the competitive advantages of Ras Al Khaimah. The Business Round Table and Networking Dinner provided a platform for exploring new collaboration and investment opportunities.
Chirag Shah, President of the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce, remarked on the unique opportunities for mutual exchange and partnership presented by the event.
Ramy Jallad, Group CEO of RAKEZ, expressed satisfaction with the positive response from Canadian businesses, noting that bilateral trade between Canada and the UAE has surpassed USD 2 billion. He emphasized RAKEZ's commitment to facilitating investments that benefit both regions and supporting Canadian firms in establishing operations in Ras Al Khaimah.
The roadshow also included a High Net-Worth Individual gathering and a networking session organized by the Indo-Canada Chamber, further solidifying economic ties between Canada and Ras Al Khaimah, which is home to over 700 thriving Canadian companies.
