Bahrain, 24 October, 2024 : The National Bureau for Revenue (NBR) has published a Domestic Minimum Top-up Tax (DMTT) payer charter, outlining expectations for both the NBR and registered DMTT payers to foster a relationship built on mutual trust and compliance.
Registered DMTT Payer Rights
DMTT payers are entitled to professional, efficient, and fair treatment from NBR representatives, who will interact with respect and professionalism. If a payer is dissatisfied with the services, they are encouraged to address concerns directly with NBR staff or submit queries through official channels for prompt resolution.
Payers are presumed to be truthful, providing complete and accurate information and fulfilling their DMTT obligations. NBR is committed to ensuring that DMTT information is readily accessible through its website and official communications, along with direct engagement with businesses to facilitate compliance.
Data protection is also a priority; the NBR will securely store the information provided by DMTT payers and share it only when legally permissible.
Registered DMTT Payer Duties
DMTT payers must comply with all obligations, including timely registration, accurate documentation, and prompt payment of taxes as outlined in the Executive Regulations. Maintaining accurate records to support submissions is essential, and payers should immediately notify the NBR if they suspect unauthorized access to their online portal identification details.
