KSA, 28 October, 2024 : Saudi Minister of Finance and Chair of the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC), His Excellency Mohammed Aljadaan, held a press conference with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, outlining key IMFC actions and meeting outcomes.
Minister Aljadaan praised IMFC members for their collaboration and congratulated Ms. Georgieva on her second term. He highlighted key achievements under Saudi Arabia’s IMFC chairmanship, including the review of the Poverty Reduction and Growth Trust (PRGT) to aid low-income countries, support for liquidity assistance improvements by the IMF and WBG, and measures to bolster IMF capacity development and financing.
He also noted the IMF Executive Board’s addition of a new chair for Africa, enhancing the continent’s representation.
Saudi Arabia’s IMFC leadership underscores its commitment to multilateralism and global economic stability.
