Qatar, 28 October, 2024 : Qatar’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) for September 2024 reached 107.82 points, marking a 0.33% increase from August 2024 and a 0.82% rise compared to September 2023.
The National Planning Council reported that seven CPI components increased, three decreased, and two remained unchanged from August. Notable increases included Recreation and Culture (3.15%), Education (1.31%), and Miscellaneous Goods and Services (1.09%). Decreases were observed in Food and Beverages (0.99%), Transport (0.75%), and Housing, Water, Electricity, and Fuel (0.44%).
On an annual basis, the CPI rose by 0.82%, driven primarily by increases in Recreation and Culture (12.57%), Miscellaneous Goods and Services (6.24%), and Communication (3.96%). Decreases were noted in Housing and Utilities (4.17%), Food and Beverages (3.3%), and Health (1.63%).
Excluding Housing, Water, Electricity, and Fuel, the CPI stood at 112.07 points, reflecting a 0.49% increase from August 2024 and a 2.00% rise compared to September 2023.
