UAE, 29 October, 2024 : President Sheikh Mohamed welcomed Vietnam's Prime Minister, Pham Minh Chinh, to Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi today, during an official visit aimed at enhancing UAE-Vietnam relations. The leaders discussed ways to expand their countries' partnership across various fields, including trade, investment, climate action, and renewable energy, to support shared ambitions for sustainable development.
The meeting included Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister. Both leaders emphasized their countries' commitment to peace and stability through diplomacy and highlighted the importance of cooperation in achieving lasting prosperity.
Sheikh Mohamed reaffirmed the UAE’s dedication to strengthening ties with Vietnam since diplomatic relations were established in 1993. He noted the significant growth in trade, with non-oil transactions between the two countries reaching $12.12 billion in 2023, marking a 38.7% increase from the previous year. As a Sectoral Dialogue Partner with ASEAN, the UAE aims to boost economic partnerships with Vietnam, its largest non-oil trading partner in the ASEAN bloc.
Prime Minister Chinh expressed appreciation for the warm reception and conveyed Vietnam's eagerness to expand economic ties. Following their meeting, he penned a message in the Qasr Al Watan guestbook, wishing for continued growth in UAE-Vietnam relations. The event concluded with a luncheon attended by ministers and senior officials from both nations.
