UAE, 29 October, 2024 : The Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) announced a strong performance in Q3 2024, achieving a 16% growth rate with 17,981 business licenses issued and renewed. Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud, SEDD Chairman, highlighted the increase as a sign of sustained economic growth and rising confidence in Sharjah’s investment opportunities.
During the quarter, SEDD issued 2,137 new licenses and renewed 15,844, with commercial licenses leading the count at 1,267, followed by professional (605), industrial (126), e-commerce (76), and Eitimad (63). Renewed licenses similarly saw commercial licenses at the forefront with 9,991, followed by professional (4,818), industrial (747), Eitimad (227), and e-commerce (61).
Khalfan Al Herathi, Director of SEDD Branches, credited development projects across Sharjah, initiated by H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, for boosting investment activity. The Industrial Areas branch saw the highest activity with 975 issued and 7,295 renewed licenses, followed by the Central Region and Khor Fakkan branches. The positive indicators suggest continued economic recovery and growth for Sharjah.
