UAE, 30 October, 2024 : Dubai has officially approved a record budget for 2025-2027, totaling 272 billion dirhams ($74.06 billion). This marks the largest budget in the emirate's history and is aimed at supporting various development initiatives. A significant 46% of the budget will be allocated to infrastructure projects, including enhancements to the rainwater drainage system, which gained urgency after severe rainfall in April.
Moreover, the budget includes plans for a new terminal at Al Maktoum International Airport, projected to be the largest airport globally, with the capacity to handle up to 260 million passengers annually. In addition to infrastructure, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum stated that 30% of the budget will be directed toward health, education, and public services, contributing to overall quality of life improvements in the emirate.
Sheikh Mohammed also noted the expectation of achieving an operating surplus of 21% of total revenues next year, signaling strong fiscal health moving forward.
