KSA, 4 November, 2024 : Fahd Al-Rasheed, Chairman of the Saudi Conventions and Exhibitions General Authority (SCEGA), announced at the Future Investment Initiative (FII) that Riyadh is set to rank among the world’s top 10 cities in the near future.
Al-Rasheed attributed this progress to Saudi Arabia’s rapid growth in non-oil sectors, which have expanded by 7%, and the transformative effects of Vision 2030 on the exhibitions and conferences industry. The Kingdom hosted over 17,000 events in 2023 and aims to increase this number to 40,000 by 2030.
He highlighted the significance of Expo 2030 under Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as a pivotal global event that showcases a progressive vision. Additionally, Al-Rasheed emphasized the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in Riyadh’s development, particularly in urban adaptation and workforce transformation, noting that events like FII thrive on technological innovation and creative thinking.
