Bahrain, 6 November, 2024 : Bahrain’s Nationality, Passports, and Residence Affairs (NPRA) has issued more than 10,000 Golden Residency permits to recipients from 99 countries. The initiative aims to drive economic growth, attract skilled talent, and support investment, aligning with the vision of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior.
The permits have been granted to property owners, skilled professionals, including artists and athletes, as well as long-serving employees and their families who meet the eligibility criteria. The announcement was made at the Gateway Gulf 2024 forum, which focused on investment opportunities in the region.
The Golden Residency program is available to eligible employees or retirees who have lived in Bahrain for over five consecutive years with a minimum salary of BD2,000 ($5,307). Additional categories include property owners with properties valued at BD200,000 or more, retirees with a monthly income of BD4,000, and talented individuals meeting specific criteria in their field.
