Oman, 11 November, 2024 : The inflation rate in Oman increased by 0.4% in September 2024 compared to the same month in 2023, based on Consumer Price Index data from the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
Prices rose significantly in several categories: miscellaneous goods and services (4.33%), food and non-alcoholic beverages (2.81%), and health (2.44%). However, the prices for transportation and household equipment declined by 3.41% and 0.59%, respectively. Housing and communications costs remained stable.
In food items, the highest increases were seen in vegetables (8.15%) and fruits (6.15%), while fish and seafood prices dropped by 3.42%.
Regionally, Musandam Governorate experienced the highest inflation at 1.5%, with inflation also rising in other governorates. South Al Batinah was the only governorate to see a slight decrease at 0.12%.
