Oman, 12 November, 2024 : The Oman Botanic Garden (OBG), nearing completion, is offering investment opportunities for small and medium enterprises, including cafes and restaurants.
Showcased at the World Travel Meet in London, OBG aims to attract both local and international visitors by blending Oman’s environmental diversity with cultural heritage. The garden will feature ecosystems from Dhofar, the Al Hajar Mountains, and Musandam, alongside desert and wadi landscapes.
The project incorporates advanced technology, such as mobile apps and interactive screens, while sustainable design features include triple-layered glass exteriors to reduce cooling needs and natural ventilation during cooler weather.
Situated 35 km from Muscat International Airport in Al Khoud, the garden will also feature Oman’s first cable car, playgrounds, event spaces, and learning opportunities. Dr. Khalid al Farsi, head of horticulture, emphasized that extensive plant data has been recorded to preserve local botanical knowledge.
