Qatari Businessmen Association Explores New Investment Avenues in Uzbekistan

Qatar, 12 November, 2024 : The Qatari Businessmen Association (QBA) recently hosted a high-level delegation from Uzbekistan, led by H.E. Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade, to discuss investment prospects. The Uzbek delegation included top officials from health, transportation, and various government sectors, while QBA members, led by Chairman Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, welcomed the visitors.

Sheikh Faisal highlighted the strengthened Qatar-Uzbekistan ties following H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani’s visit to Uzbekistan, which encouraged joint economic and trade cooperation. He invited Qatari investors to consider opportunities in Uzbekistan, particularly in agriculture, mining, and energy, where existing Qatari projects like Nebras Energy are already active.

Minister Kudratov praised the nations' growing relations and emphasized Uzbekistan's attractive investment incentives, including tax exemptions and access to a regional market of 300 million people. With ambitious targets to attract $250 billion in foreign direct investments by 2030, Kudratov invited Qatari companies to explore Uzbekistan’s growth sectors.

Both sides agreed on a Qatari business delegation visit to Tashkent to further assess investment opportunities across various industries.
