Kuwait, 13 November, 2024 : Kuwait’s Cabinet, during its weekly meeting on Tuesday, praised the recent visit of UAE President Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed, highlighting the strong and deep-rooted ties between the two nations.
In addition, the Cabinet welcomed newly appointed Minister of Justice, Counselor Nasser Yousef Al-Sumait, and approved a draft decree appointing Sheikh Mubarak Homoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as Chief of the National Guard.
The Cabinet also reviewed and approved a draft decree on foreign residency, which aims to curb the trade in residencies and establish stricter penalties for violations. The law prohibits trading in residency permits and requires sponsors to notify the Ministry of Interior of expired visas or residency.
Further, the Cabinet approved the minutes of the Supreme Committee for Investigating Kuwaiti Nationality, addressing cases of fraud and forgery in nationality acquisition, and received a report from the Minister of Education on developing Kuwait’s education system.
