Kuwaiti Crown Prince Engages with IMF Chief on Economic Cooperation at COP29

Kuwait, 14 November, 2024 : Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, representing His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, met with Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), during the COP29 summit in Baku on Wednesday.

Th e Crown Prince conveyed the Amir’s greetings and emphasized Kuwait's interest in enhancing the exchange of expertise with the IMF. Discussions covered economic and investment issues, recent global developments, and avenues for strengthening cooperation.

Highlighting Kuwait’s commitment to youth development, the Crown Prince expressed a desire to leverage the IMF’s expertise to advance skills among Kuwaiti youth. Also in attendance were Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya, Diwan Undersecretary Mazen Al-Essa, and Assistant Foreign Minister Ambassador Bader Al-Tunaib.
