KSA, 18 November, 2024 : The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA), is hosting the 39th Plenary Meeting of the Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force (MENAFATF) from November 16 to 21, 2024, in Riyadh. The meeting, chaired by the Republic of Yemen, gathers senior officials and observers from MENAFATF member countries and international organizations focused on combating financial crimes.
Discussions will center on key Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF), and proliferation financing issues, along with updates from the Financial Intelligence Units Forum, Operational Experts Forum on Terrorist Financing, and the Risk Committee.
Marking MENAFATF's 20th anniversary, a conference on AML/CTF developments will be inaugurated by SAMA Governor H.E. Ayman M. Al-Sayari. Sessions will cover FATF international standards, mutual evaluation lessons, FATF standards for virtual assets, and best practices in asset tracking and international cooperation.
The events reflect MENAFATF's ongoing commitment to combating financial crimes and safeguarding the Middle East and North Africa region.
