Sultan Haitham Issues Two Royal Decrees on Contract Signing and Tax Agreement

OMAN, 21 November, 2024 :  His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik issued two Royal Decrees today.

Royal Decree No. 59/2024 promulgates the system for signing the state’s contracts and financial obligations. It cancels Royal Decree No. 48/76 and any provisions conflicting with the new system. The decree will be published in the Official Gazette and enforced 30 days after publication.

Royal Decree No. 60/2024 ratifies an agreement with Ireland on avoiding double taxation and preventing tax evasion, signed in Muscat on 30 May 2024. The decree takes effect from its date of issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette.
