Sharjah-Pakistan Roundtable Explores Green-Tech and Economic Partnerships

UAE, 22 November, 2024 : The Sharjah FDI Office (Invest in Sharjah), in partnership with the Pakistan Business Council in Sharjah (PBC Sharjah), hosted the Sharjah-Pakistan Business Roundtable, welcoming over 200 investors and entrepreneurs. The event highlighted investment opportunities in manufacturing, trade, green-tech, and creative industries, showcasing Sharjah’s business-friendly environment and support services.

With UAE-Pakistan bilateral trade surpassing AED25.7 billion, the roundtable aimed to deepen these economic ties. Attendees included Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Government Relations, and Hussain Muhammad, Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai, alongside key Sharjah and Pakistani business leaders.

Sheikh Fahim highlighted the strong Sharjah-Pakistan connection, emphasizing the emirate’s advanced infrastructure, strategic location, and supportive ecosystem. He lauded the 1.8 million Pakistani residents in the UAE for their integral contributions across sectors.

Mohamed Juma Al Musharrkh, CEO of Invest in Sharjah, noted the trust and prosperity underpinning the partnership, while Saif Al Suwaidi, Director of Sharjah Publishing City Free Zone, spotlighted the thriving publishing sector with over 800 Pakistani publishers.

Panelists, including Amir Hassan of Diyar Group and Hiba Al Marzouqi from SCCI, stressed Sharjah’s strategic advantages for Pakistani businesses, from streamlined processes to cross-sector collaboration opportunities. The event reinforced the role of business councils, like the newly established PBC Sharjah, in fostering bilateral growth and innovation.
