Sharjah Chamber Strengthens Economic Ties with Rwanda

UAE, 26 November, 2024 : The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) discussed strengthening economic ties with Rwanda during a meeting between its Chairman, Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, and Rwanda's Ambassador to the UAE, John Mirenge. The talks focused on including Rwanda in SCCI's annual trade mission to East Africa, aiming to foster trade, tourism, and joint investments.

Al Owais highlighted the UAE’s role as a key source of foreign investment in Rwanda, particularly in sectors such as energy, healthcare, infrastructure, and tourism. He emphasized the potential for expanding Emirati investments, driven by Rwanda’s dynamic economic opportunities.

Both sides stressed the importance of continued collaboration to deepen economic ties and build on the successes of the UAE-Rwanda Business Forum hosted by SCCI in November 2023.
