UAE, 6 December, 2024 : The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has called on Resident Juridical Persons with Licences issued in December, regardless of the issuance year, to register for Corporate Tax by December 31, 2024.
This directive aligns with FTA Decision No. 3 of 2024, which specifies registration timelines under Federal Decree-Law No. 47 of 2022 on Corporate Taxation. The FTA cautioned that non-compliance may result in penalties as outlined in Cabinet Decision No. 75 of 2023.
Resident Juridical Persons incorporated before March 1, 2024, must register based on the month their Licence was issued. Taxable Persons with multiple Licences must use the earliest issuance date for their registration deadline, even for expired Licences as of March 1, 2024.
The FTA emphasized the streamlined registration process available on the EmaraTax digital platform, allowing users to complete the process in about 30 minutes. Registrants can also seek assistance from authorised Tax Agents or government service centres across the UAE.
Taxable Persons yet to register can create an account at eservices.tax.gov.ae and follow simple steps to obtain a Corporate Tax Registration Number.
