UAE, 6 December, 2024 : At the WORLDEF Dubai 2024 forum held at Dubai CommerCity, participants highlighted the UAE’s role as a global leader in digital commerce, with significant opportunities for cross-border e-commerce in the region.
Faisal Jassim, Senior Director of Sales at Dubai CommerCity, described the free zone as the region’s first dedicated to digital commerce, noting the forum's strong turnout and the interest in connecting with key players in the e-commerce value chain.
Krystel Abi Assi, Founder of Amazon Sellers Society, shared that over 60% of Amazon sellers in the UAE are small business owners. The UAE's e-commerce market is expected to exceed $11 billion in 2024 and reach $25 billion by 2029, with a 12% annual growth rate.
Sharanya Rao, Category Lead at eBay, announced a new MOU with Dubai CommerCity to enhance cross-border e-commerce collaboration, emphasizing the UAE and Gulf region’s potential in the digital commerce space.
